[07 Jan 2010|01:07am] mccool Everyday that I'm feeling sore or tired or want to sleep in or want to watch a movie instead of train all I can think of is, "to be a champion, you have to work harder than everyone else" I think to be successful in life this is something you have to live by. Training with Saulo is amazing. I'm not an outsider when I'm there anymore because he doesn't know or care who I am or who anyone else is at the club. He doesn't care that I tapped out their star poster toronto bjj boy. All I can think about lately is getting my life on track, making it stable and being the best I can be. post comment

Sooo... [05 Jan 2010|05:52pm] mccool I didn't know exactly what the deal with school was. I couldn't log onto my student account because my password had expired. So I gave them a call so I could find out when to get my schedule and what not. Turns out eventhough I enrolled, I'm not in the program and the program has closed. Apparently they sent a tuition package to my dad's house saying my tuition was due back in November. So I spoke to them, layed some of the charm on the officer of admissions and she got me the No. 1 spot on the waitlist. The thing here is, I HAVE TO go to school, I've quit my job, figured out my money with OSAP all that stuff. If I don't go to school I'll have to either find a new job within like 2 weeks, or move back home...I don't think either are happening. So I scrambled to see what courses are available for next week. It turns out Sheridan has a way better university bridging program that will help me get into psychology specifically. I talked to the people there and I've applied. They told me to come in and I can get accepted on the spot. I've decided I really want to do this now instead. Fuck George Brown! Now the big question. Do I get up and move to Oakville, get rid of my place or sublet it, or do I stay in Toronto and commute...hopefully only three times a week since I will have one or two classes advanced standing. FUCK. Either one is going to suck bigtime. post comment

[05 Jan 2010|02:14am] mccool I started training today with Saulo, he was awesome, did a bunch of excercises I've never seen, very nice dude. We played king of the matt its where about 8 or 9 people go in the middle then the rest of the class lines up against the wall and they have to fight the person in the middle starting at an advantagous position and if they win, they get to go in the middle, if they lose the person in the middle gets to stay there. The point is to make the person in the middle tired and lose. I went into the middle and Saulo was standing right beside me watching, so there was no way I could give up or take it easy and about 10 different people came at me for about 30 minutes straight, but I didn't give up and I kicked everyone's ass. I'm going to miss everyone at work. I don't know what's going on with moving into Jonny's. Kevin really wants to move into my place and I think he'd be good to live with. post comment

[29 Dec 2009|01:21am] mccool Show yesterday was really good. It was boring and cold waiting around, as are all winter shows. Lots of kids showed up and I had a lot of fun playing. During our set this autistic guy came up on stage inbetween one of the songs. I didn't really know what was going on, but I went along with it. He did the "bounce" part in one of our songs. Turns out he loves LifeRuiner and letting him do that made him so happy. I was stoked LifeRuiner did something awesome and good like that for once, kinda made my night. I was sitting in a booth with some people and this girl came at sat down and Jonny was like, "HEY (I'll leave her name out), Andrew loves black girls!" Which is true and she was cute and so into it. Anyways, I talked to her a bit, she's rad and thinks my silly sweaters are cute. Work was brutal today, I wanted to quit and just say fuck the next few weeks, but I didn't. We're gonna do a one week tour while I'm on March Break. Should be cool. post comment
